Excellence Patches
Students who demonstrate outstanding skill levels in their curriculum requirements will be rewarded with excellence patches at their belt graduation ceremony. There are 3 levels of patches that a student can earn based on their belt rank at the time in which they earn them.WHITE- earned at the yellow and orange belt levels
SILVER-earned at the blue, green, purple belt levels
GOLD-earned at the red, brown, and advanced brown belt levels
Excellence Patches that Students May Earn:
- Kicking Excellence - Chambering and re-chambering, foot position, thrust or snap, realistic power, accuracy, speed.
- Punching Excellence - Guard positioning, proper fist, straight wrist, body torque, accuracy, speed, and power.
- Stance Excellence - Proper width and length, foot angles, weight distribution, and posture.
- Forms Excellence - Look of realism, correct stances, eye focus, concentration, excellent technique.
- Self Defense Excellence - Convincing technique, target knowledge, obvious striking power, control.
- Sparring Excellence - Use of combinations and strategies taught in class, timing, ring skill, and movement.
- Fitness Excellence - Display of proper technique on push ups, sit-ups, balance requirements. (Make it look easy).
Academic Patches
Students who earn straight A's on their report card will receive a gold star to go on the lapel of their karate uniform.Students who earn A's and B's on their report card will receive a red star to go on the lapel of their karate uniform.
Students who make Straight A Honor Roll or A/B Honor Roll all year will receive an Academic Achievement patch to go on the sleeve of their karate uniform.
